As We Say Good Afternoon…..

I changed the site around a lot, to say the least. There is something on here that you might not have seen yet. Just in case, we wanted to let you know it is here and you can feel free to share it on your site or any place you would like too. We ask for no link back to us, our sincere intention is that somehow, some way, the Pagan community will catch on fire and blaze like never before. With that said, I would like to introduce you to “The WOTC’s 2015 Ribbon Campaign.”

Live our love

Be the one

This is the awakening of all ages

Where she comes into her being

She is within us

She is power

We are her

We are one.

With the Power of the Goddess

We Stand As One.

The chant reaches far and wide to every Pagan’s ear.Feel the power, Rise and Proclaim….

“We Stand As One.”

Words are easily spoken but the time has come for action. Action in the Pagan community. Time to gather our strength from the Goddess and stand strong in our beliefs. Time to remember who we are and where we come from. Time to remember we are the children of the Goddess. No matter where we are, we all are brothers and sisters in the name of the Goddess.”

These words are a call to action. We have been scattered to the winds. Now is the time to stand strong in your faith. By leaps and bounds, we have gained so much in the last few years, we cannot stand to lose the progress we have made. We have brought Witchcraft and Paganism to the forefront once again. We are recognized as a Religion. Yes, our community is in upheaval. But this is the time to stand strong in our faith. Draw from your inner self. Call upon the Goddess. We will survive. We will continue to grow. We will set the world afire as we carry our message onto those who long to hear our words. We will stand strong and persevere as our Ancestors did. We will remember our teachings, our beliefs and most of all the Ways of Old. We are a great people, we know where we have been and where we are going. We will not be subdued. We will let our voices be heard. We are strong. We are Pagans. We are Witches. We are Wiccans. Now is the time we unite and gather strength from each other.

Now is the time,

“WE STAND AS ONE”

*This campaign is a sincere attempt to re-energize the Pagan community. Please feel free to distribute it to any and all groups or communities that you may own or belong to.

A Blast from the Past – Our Favorite Furry Familiars Of The Day

Today’s Favorite Furry Familiar

Name: Bob the Destroyer
Age: Eight years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Orange Tabby
Home: Guelph, Ontario, Canada

This is Bob the Destroyer. Yes, that’s his real name. Around 8 years ago my wife said she wanted a kitten. We already had a geriatric dog we’d inherited from her father, and her own cat, so I wasn’t keen on the idea. But my wife knew my weakness for orange tabbies and told me a pet shop nearby had some.

I told her the only way we were getting a cat is if we named him “Bob the Destroyer.” She agreed without hesitation, which took me aback. I thought something that ridiculous would never fly.

The name turned out to be somewhat prophetic. Turned out he had fleas, and refused to use the high quality wood pellet litter (thank goodness … that stuff cost a fortune). He also had a hernia that our vet said was the second largest he’d ever seen on a cat, and had to be dealt with immediately. This despite the fact the pet shop worker told us the hernia was no big deal, and his boss said he saw them all the time.

When we contacted the pet shop about the problems we had with Bob, he said we could bring him back to the store and he would “take care of it.” Well … tiny Bob had already captured our hearts, and the sinister nature of his words left no doubt in our minds what he would do to the poor cat. We filed a complaint with the BBB, and he wound up losing his accreditation over it. The store no longer exists, and we learned a valuable lesson that pet stores aren’t a good place to get an animal.

Bob is extremely affectionate. He’s super patient with our children, to the point that our youngest son cuddles on top of the cat, and Bob stays put without any signs of irritation. I think this may be because I’ve played with him like he’s a dog since we got him. Bob loves to get strong pats! He loves to snuggle, and MROW’s late at night as he wanders around the house, as though he’s letting us know the place is secure.

Astronomy Picture of the Day – Meteor in the Milky Way

Astronomy Picture of the Day

Discover the cosmos! Each day a different image or photograph of our fascinating universe is featured, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer.

Meteor in the Milky Way

Explanation: Earth’s April showers include the Lyrid Meteor Shower, observed for more than 2,000 years when the planet makes its annual passage through the dust stream of long-period Comet Thatcher. A grain of that comet’s dust, moving 48 kilometers per second at an altitude of 100 kilometers or so, is swept up in this night sky view from the early hours of April 21. Flashing toward the southeastern horizon, the meteor’s brilliant streak crosses the central region of the rising Milky Way. Its trail points back toward the shower’s radiant in the constellation Lyra, high in the northern springtime sky and off the top of the frame. The yellowish hue of giant star Antares shines to the right of the Milky Way’s bulge. Higher still is bright planet Saturn, near the right edge. Seen from Istra, Croatia, the Lyrid meteor’s greenish glow reflects in the waters of the Adriatic Sea.

Venus in Gemini

Now to May 7, 2015

The beauty of Venus entering Gemini is that the winds of attraction may blow in many directions. New perspectives on love become more possible. This is, ideally, a time to discuss relationships with the clarity and openness for which Gemini is known. This air sign supports the objectivity needed to see complex issues of partnership without emotional distortion.

Venus in Gemini places value on words and communication of all kinds. Attraction to gadgets, books, classes and learning tools may be greater than usual now. Depth is not the strong point here. Both Venus and Gemini can be dilettantes, flitting from one thing to another with barely a moment’s rest. Lovely Venus in this butterfly sign may be a bit flirtatious. Understand that we all need diversions. Enjoy the playfulness possible now, just don’t take it seriously. It’s a time of tasting, rather than testing.

The great gift of this period is a willingness to set aside old rules about what you like and dislike. Life is a great cornucopia of flavors, meant to awaken as much as to comfort. You can use this time to drop some of your social and aesthetic rules. Beauty, pleasure and personal values, you may discover, come in an infinite variety of shapes, colors and sizes.

Unsurprisingly, Venus in Gemini shows up in the birth charts of a wide variety of individuals. There are beauties Naomi Campbell, Uma Thurman, Brooke Shields and Candace Bergen and funny folks Bill Cosby, Joan Rivers, Dudley Moore and Ringo Starr. There are singers ranging from the religious Cat Stevens and Roger McGuinn to socially conscious Bono and style conscious Cher.

Healers Benjamin Spock and Elisabeth Kubler-Ross were born with Venus in Gemini, as was “hurter” Mike Tyson. Artist Frida Kahlo, poet Gary Snyder and designer Georgio Armani add style to this group. Actors Harrison Ford, Al Pacino and Omar Sharif were also born with Venus in Gemini, as were newsman Edward R. Murrow, Virgin tycoon Richard Branson and both Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy.

Today’s Meaning:
The good spirits are pleased with you. This period is a happy one. For the immediate future these spirits will protect as you travel through life and reward you with moments of bliss.
General Description:
This curious wooden figure is worn suspended round the neck as a talisman by the natives of New Guinea. It is supposed to terrify and scare away evil spirits. It is also a charm for happiness and is believed to protect the wearer from illness, for the natives believe that illness is caused by a bad spirit entering the body. They are taught by their witch doctors that nature is full of evil, and good spirits, and much of their time is spent in pacifying the good spirits, and frightening away the evil ones.
